The 2011 BMW M5 has been caught undergoing testing on the Nürburgring.

Identical to the prototype photographed last week, the car looks pretty impressive doing some high-speed high jinks.

As we have previously reported, the M5 will feature a 4.4 liter-twin-turbo V8 from the X5 M / X6 M. It will be tuned to produce 570 hp (425 kW / 578 PS), instead of 547 hp (408 kW / 555 PS). Mated to an 'M Sports' transmission, the M5 will likely accelerate from 0-60 mph (96 km/h) in 4.2 seconds before hitting a limited top speed of 155 mph (249 km/h).

Set to go on sale next year, the M5 will likely be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in October.
