New Opel Sports Tourer spotted taking a few laps around the Nordschleife track at the Nurburgring circuit

Here are some more spyshots of the upcoming 2011 Opel Astra Sports Tourer taking a few laps around the Nordschleife track at the Nurburgring circuit.

The rear section of the wagon is still under the checkered camouflage we saw in the last set of shots of an Astra Sports Tourer prowling the streets somewhere in Germany. But we can make out the taillights, which remain similar to the standard Astra hatch, and the reflector lights seem to be embedded in the bumper.

Following in the footsteps of the successful Insignia Sports Tourer, this Astra is sticking close to the new Opel design paradigm which has helped the German brand bump its prestige quotient up a notch in the marketplace.

Given how road-ready this model looks, we can expect to see a production version of the Astra Sports Tourer quite soon, perhaps making its debut at the Paris motor show this September.
