2012 Mercedes CLS 63 AMG prototype spy photo 16.04.2010 / Copyright: SB-Medien Spies in Germany caught a fresh set of photos featuring the 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG. Seen racing around the Nürburgring, some of the four-door's LED lighting at the front and back can be seen through the camouflage.
When the CLS 63 goes on sale next year in Europe, it will likely feature a seven-speed automatic transmission paired to a new twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8 engine that generates about 536 bhp (400 kW / 544 PS). Stepping up to the AMG Performance Package will get the customer an extra 27 bhp (20 kW / 27 PS).
The performance-focused executive four-door coupe will be a formidable opponent to the Aston Martin Rapide, Audi S7, and Porsche Panamera Turbo.
